BOOM Concepts Announces New Career Sessions Program: Artists Taking Care of Artists
BOOM Concepts creates environments and experiences that make space for intentional exchange of learning between collaborators, participants, and organizers. Artists Taking Care of Artists combines the concepts of active neighboring and peer-to-peer mentorships to provide an arts and culture-based field-building program for practitioners across career stages. Providing positive space to encourage critical growth, ATCA centers and supports artistic practice and creative intellect strategies to help connect artists with diverse opportunities in the commercial, academic, and institutional market.
The program provides participants with intellectual exchange, field-based expertise, and a thought exchange partner BOOM Concepts. This program also offers accessible experts and field leaders who center reciprocity and knowledge exchange in their work.
BOOM Concepts will provide four career reflection sessions featuring 3 learning components: Creative Audits & Copyediting (July 2024 & January 2025), Diverse Arts Income Streams (September 2024), and Asset, Inventory, & Cash Flow Management (November 2024). Each component includes - take-home practice activities to aid in the comprehension and understanding of the information provided in the career reflection sessions. BOOM will provide a learning stipend, lunch stipend, and accessible attendance options (digital and IRL). After each session, BOOM Concepts staff will conduct 1-1 follow-up coaching with participants to ensure an action-based approach to their practice.
Sign up for the 1st career session, Creative Audits & Copyediting below. We encourage interested artists and small art organization leaders from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties to participate!
The ATCA info session will be held July 8th, 2024. The deadline for the first Creative Audits & Copyediting session will be July 16th, 2024.
