Overview

The Community & Economic Development Program is devoted to increasing economic opportunity in the Pittsburgh region and improving the quality of life in communities facing social and economic challenges. We encourage significant development by focusing on well-positioned geographic areas while supporting innovative community and economic development across the region. We also have made a significant commitment to our military and veteran community, which we believe to be the single greatest immigration of talent our region has seen in decades. Our other work includes continuing the Endowments’ longtime support of ecosystems that bolster innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship emerging from technology and social ventures.

The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh, Construction Junction and Carnegie Mellon University’s Urban Design Build Studio work together as partners in operating the program.
