As one of three grantmaking strategic areas of the Heinz Endowments, Learning is soliciting mini-grant applications for projects in Hazelwood that align with one or more of two priority areas in Hazelwood: Family and Child Well-being & Holistic Education.

Learning’s financial commitments in Hazelwood will support collective community-based and community-driven activities by a cross section of grantees focused on working together towards mutual goals and metrics to support families and children.

Awards for the Hazelwood neighborhood initiative mini-grants will not exceed $25,000.00 and all applicants must be registered as a 501c3 to do business in Pennsylvania. Applications will be evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Feasibility of design and technical approach
  • Reaching target groups and impact on target group
  • Collaboration with neighborhood residents and neighborhood non-profits
  • Operational capacity
  • Previous experience
  • Cost efficiency

Complete the Endowments’ online Hazelwood Mini-Grant Application. (Be sure to read the instructions for this form.) The application will be available July 19, 2017.
