Impromptu Appearance at the Galleria Mall Draws a Crowd

By Kathleen Painter

One of my favorite memories this past season was of our “Flash Mob” event at the Galleria Mall in the South Hills.  Orchestra members gave up their Saturday afternoon for an impromptu performance.   Assistant conductor, Alejandro Pinzon, was present to encourage anyone and everyone to conduct the orchestra.  One after another took us up on our offer.

The orchestra’s enthusiasm was infectious as more and more people stopped not just for the music but also for the atmosphere.

Many members worked to make the event a success.  PCO Treasurer, Bill Ceriani, organized the event to coincide with the South Hills Art League show.

We invite you to join us for our next appearance at the Galleria to be held in the Spring of 2015!  Check back at the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra website at a later time for more information about this event and many others.
